Since I was able to speak I wanted to be an environmental oceanic engineer, considering I am an aquarius, the zodiac symbol for a water carrier. A few years later I received my first computer, changing my direction completely to becoming a computer programmer. Lately I have been seeing a lot of movies ending happily sailing into the sunset, and it made me remember one of my dreams in high school of floating around the world on my own sailboat. Many people consider boats a waste of money considering the amount of time they actually spend using the boat, and the cost of maintenance. With the american way of life, the 9 to 5 job, working your fingers to the bone, and the cost of gas these days who can afford to buy luxery items such as a boat? In fact you would be suprised how many people do just that, live on a sailboat and sail around the world, even raise a family on a sailboat. As the years go by I wonder if I will ever be able to afford one of my own, and how will I make a living for my everyday needs while aboard?

Watching the new James Bond movie Casino Royale made me lust over the Spirit 54′ Yacht. What a beautiful sailboat, and with a huge pricetag. I am not sure how practical it would be to live on that boat, considering there are a lot of other yacht manufactures out there that make them with alot more features and the needs of a live aboard lifestyle. I haven’t been able to find many reviews of this yacht online. I assume they don’t show back up on the market very often after purchased and the owners probably don’t have the time to write about how much they love their boat when they are too busy sailing on it.

I was talking to a friend yesterday about my sailboat dream, and he mentioned that he wanted to move to Italy. He said if I ever owned a sailboat he and his wife would gladly sail with me sometime to italy of course.
